NoiseTrade
Posted on Friday, June 17, 2011 in Music
This week has been crazy fun with the release of my husband’s new album, Mysteries of the Kingdom. I have known about NoiseTrade for a while, but experienced it in a new way with Aaron J. Robinson’s FREE title track giveaway on NT.
Fans listen and download track(s) in exchange for a valid email and postal code. The postal code thing helps the artists let you know about local events and cuts down on spam – the stupid ones like – “Hey, I’m playing a concert at the North Pole on Tuesday. Invite your friends”. Most artists use common sense and contact is sparse – like the release of a new CD, etc. $ Tips are very much appreciated. In the world of “free” music, patrons of the arts are more important than ever.
On NT, this week I scouted out some new music:
I found Songs for Joplin that benefits Joplin, Missouri’s restoration efforts.
I also found a new track from Derekk Webb and Sandra McCracken. I have listened to these guys’ solo albums and I like the new sound they have as a duo.
What music is spinning your summer soundtrack?
